Our Alpaca Yoga + Mat Pilates Teachers

Magali Lancaster

Magali has been deeply involved in the awakening process of personal transformation through healing interventions since 1995. Her entry into healing began as a student of Massage Therapy, and continued later on as an Instructor of Massage Therapy in Miami Florida at Educating Hands School of Massage as she also studied various Yoga Philosophies and Practices. She spent over fifteen years teaching and sharing her knowledge of the physical structure and functions of the human body, and its interplay of the more subtle human energy field.

She has travelled abroad teaching the Anatomy of Healing Intensives and leading groups in shamanic sound journeys, personal healing and wellness. Magali travelled internationally in 2017 & 2018 to England, Holland and Iceland, within the United States she visited Seattle, Oregon, Connecticut and Florida.

Magali first became a yoga instructor while she lived in San Francisco, CA. studying the Rocket Series Yoga (Ashtanga-Vinyasa) with Larry Schultz in 2004 (200 Hour Certification). Then in 2014, she continued her Yoga Teacher Certification and became a Kundalini Yoga Instructor, as taught by Yogi Bhajan (200 Hour Certification). She originally graduated from the Miami International University of Art & Design in 1995, and later studied at the Art Student League in New York City from 2011 to 2012. She moved to Western North Carolina a few years ago and married her sweetheart, Elliot. They enjoy their life together in these beautiful mountains, surrounded by nature.

Ashlee Dunn

Ashlee Dunn has been teaching yoga for over two decades. She has developed yoga programs, taught classes and guided workshops and retreats for studios around the country. She holds certifications in multiple forms of yoga (including Unnata Aerial Yoga). Ashlee spent part of her childhood in beautiful Asheville as her mother’s family is from this area. She is excited to be back in the Blue Ridge mountains after living in Colorado for the past 20 years.

Ashlee began her yoga path with Mary Lou Buck in the Kripalu tradition.  A few years later Ashlee discovered Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and traveled to India twice to study this form with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois.

While in India, she also studied yogic philosophy, pranayama, and meditation with Dr. Shankaranarayana Jois and yoga asana and meditation with Dr. Peetambar Mishra in Varanasi, India.

Ashlee continued to study, practice, and teach Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga for about 15 years in Boulder, CO, with her principal teacher, Richard Freeman. She taught daily Mysore classes, courses and workshops at the Yoga Workshop. Ashlee assisted Richard regularly, and participated in multiple teacher trainings with him. Ashlee was fortunate to also have in depth studies with many other amazing Ashtangis, including: Sharath Rangaswamy, Annie Pace, Tim Miller, David Swenson, and Bryan Kest.

Ashlee has studied and practiced Dream and Sleep Yoga with Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche of the Bon Tibetan tradition. She has found these practices to be life changing; bringing healing and transformation to the entire system. Ashlee is a Divine Sleep® Yoga Nidra guide and Reiki practitioner.

Alongside yoga teaching, Ashlee is also a writer, former school teacher, and most recently a Certified Nursing Assistant. She has a broad understanding of the current stresses in our society and enjoys helping others find specific modalities to alleviate suffering.

Ashlee is also a nature lover and is excited to share yoga in this beautiful setting surrounded by these amazing animals!

Alpaca Yoga + Mat Pilates Classes We Offer

Ashtanga Vinyasa Level One

Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga involves a specific set of postures linked together by breath and movement. This is an ancient and powerful discipline for cultivating physical, mental, and spiritual health. Progressive techniques of breath, posture, and movement help to cleanse, stretch, and strengthen the body as well as focus and calm the mind. This level one class is appropriate for beginners. We will explore the foundational postures of the practice, and different asanas from the Primary Series of Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga.

Gentle Yoga

This is a great class for complete beginners or experienced practitioners who desire a slower pace. We will focus on finding alignment and ease within the body and mind. Class will include various seated and standing postures, yogic breathing practices, simple guided meditation and relaxation.

Chair Yoga

A beginner based class or a class for someone who may have an injury that prevents them from standing for long periods of time. We will practice basic yoga postures from a seated position in a chair. This class will help you find freedom in your joints and space in your neck, shoulders, low back and hips! We will provide the yoga chair and the mat below the chair for each participant to use in class at no charge.

Alpaca Mat Pilates Class

In this 45 minute class you’ll be focusing on strengthening and stretching exercises helping ease tight muscles, improving flexibility, and reducing tension throughout the body.

This is a Full Body Toning – Mat Pilates experience.  It is well-known as a powerful way to fire up your core, but it also targets the entire body in a low-impact, slow and deliberate focus.  Perfect for all levels!

We provide the Pilates Resistance Ring for you to use during class. We also sell them in our gift shop if you decide to purchase one to use at home. You’ll need to bring your own Yoga or exercise mat or you can rent or buy one from us.

Our Alpacas
Our alpacas will be grazing and roaming around near us while we are in class. They are very curious and kind creations so they may come up close to us to see what we’re doing or to say hello. We’ll make sure they don’t disrupt class and gently let them know they will get to meet everyone after class. We’ll provide treats to each class participant to feed the alpacas after class.

What’s Included
In addition to our fabulous yoga teacher, gorgeous mountain and valley views, and sweet alpacas roaming nearby, we also provide a public restroom and a friendly staff to guide you in and out of the farm.
